Turn off power and water

Switch off the dishwasher breaker and close the supply valve. Confirm that the control panel no longer powers on before working near the wiring or connection box.

Disconnect and drain the lines

A supply line and drain hose usually run through the adjacent cabinet. Keep a pan and towels nearby because both can hold water after the last cycle.

Release the cabinet mounts

Built-in dishwashers are commonly anchored under the counter or to the cabinet sides. Remove the fasteners and lower the leveling feet before sliding the unit forward.

Know when to call a technician

Stop if wiring is hardwired, valves are stuck, the floor is damaged, or the unit will not release cleanly. Pickup begins after the appliance is disconnected and out of the cabinet opening.
